Chihuahua Clothes

Chihuahua clothes like a Chihuahua sweater don’t exist only to make your pup look cute but also to keep it warm. Little chi’s chill easily and they often need some additional clothes like a sweater. A Chihuahua sweater should look cute because after all our little pup should look cute! It should be full in rich colours like red, yellow, purple, pink, blue etc. Contrasting arms and neck edge along with openings on the back for harness are a must. Also it should be easily washable because chi’s get ready dirty some times!. It should not be poorly constructed and easily ripped by our chi’s playful behaviour.

The usual sizes for chi sweaters are many. Mini for very small Chihuahuas that weight under 3lbs. XXSmall for teacups and toys that weight between three to five pounds.  X-Small for pups that weight about five to seven pounds and are up to eight inches. Small for chi’s that weight about six to eight pounds and are between eight to twelve inches. Medium size for Chihuahuas that weight over eight pounds and are between 12 to 16 inches. If you want to measure your chi to find out his appropriate size you should take length measurements that start from your chi’s neck to the base of his tail.

Shorthaired Chihuahuas look really nice but need extra protection from cold weather. This kind of chi’s have very little body fat resulting them being less protected from harsh weather conditions. So if it happens to have a shorthaired chi you should really consider buying a warm sweater.

Remember Chihuahuas are like little kids. They need love and protection and that takes commitment, time, energy and money. If you are serious about owning a Chihuahua you must care about it and be there for it and cover his needs. If your chi is outside in the cold without a Chihuahua sweater ugly things could happen like catching a simple cold or getting an even more serious health problem.
